Thermocouples with thermowell to DIN 43772
Eleven designs for pipelines, vessels, furnaces and high-temperature plants — as plug-in, screw-in, weld-in or flanged sensors. Every design with a replaceable sheathed measuring insert, freely selectable length and a material to suit your medium.
The thermowell separates the measuring insert from the process. It takes up pressure, flow and corrosion, makes the sensor replaceable during operation and at the same time decides the response time: a straight tube is robust and slow, a tube with a tapered tip reacts faster, drilled solid material withstands high pressures. The choice of design follows from the installation situation, the pressure and the flow velocity.
All versions work with 1 × or 2 × thermocouple type K, N or J, measuring junction isolated or grounded, class 1 or 2 — up to +800 °C with 1.4571 and up to +1,100 °C with Alloy 800 or 1.4749. We have been manufacturing in Hanau since 1970, every version to your specification — single pieces and rebuilds to sample or drawing included.

At high flow velocities we recalculate the thermowell to DIN 43772 — tell us the medium, pressure and velocity and we will check the installation length.

Measuring insert and explosion protection
Replaceable measuring insert
All thermowell thermocouples work with the TME sheathed measuring insert, spring-loaded in the connection head and replaceable without opening the process. We also supply replacement measuring inserts for other makes — send us the old part or the type designation.
ATEX / IECEx
With a certified measuring insert and thermowell: II 1/2G Ex ib IIC T1…T6 Ga/Gb — tip in zone 0, connection head in zone 1. For dust II 1/2D Ex ib IIIC Da/Db. Certificates EPS 25 ATEX 1 060 X Rev. 1 and IECEx EPS 25.0012X, sensor −50…+450 °C.
